WisdomOne Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the WisdomOne Android app (package name com.scripturedaily, "the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information. The App is published by Dipankar Dandapat.

By using the App you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Summary

  • You do not need to give us your name, email, or phone number to use the App.
  • The App creates an anonymous account linked to your device so your preferences and saved verses can be stored.
  • We use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) to understand usage, fix crashes, and manage app updates.
  • We do not sell your personal data and we do not show third-party ads.
  • You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Section 8).

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information collected automatically

DataWhy we collect it
Device identifier (Android ID, or a random ID generated by the App if the Android ID is unavailable)To create and sign in to an anonymous account for your device, so your settings and saved verses persist across reinstalls.
Device manufacturer and model (e.g. "Samsung SM-A515F")To understand which devices use the App and to troubleshoot device-specific issues.
Server request data (IP address, date/time, requested content)Recorded automatically by our server and hosting provider for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
App usage and diagnostics via Firebase AnalyticsScreens viewed, app opens, session length, app version, OS version, device type, language, approximate (country/city-level) location derived from IP address, and an app instance identifier. Used to improve the App.
Crash reports via Firebase CrashlyticsStack traces, device state at the time of a crash, OS and app version, and a Crashlytics installation identifier. Used to find and fix bugs.
App configuration via Firebase Remote ConfigA Firebase installation identifier and app version, used to tell the App whether an update is required.

2.2 Information you provide

DataWhy we collect it

2.3 Information stored only on your device

The App keeps a local cache of verses, your favorites, your settings, and an access token on your device so it can work offline and power the home-screen widget, lock-screen verse, and reminders. This data stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App or clear its data.

2.4 Information we do not collect

We do not collect your contacts, photos, files, precise (GPS) location, microphone or camera data, call logs, SMS, or payment information.

  • remember your settings across sessions and reinstalls;
  • detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and technical problems;

  • tell you when an App update is required;
  • protect the App and its users against abuse and security threats; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

5. How we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Google Firebase (Google LLC) for analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration. See Firebase Privacy and Security and the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Google Play for the in-app review prompt, handled entirely by Google Play under Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that run our server and database on our behalf (for example, Render). They process data only to provide those services to us.
  • Authorities, when required by law, or when necessary to protect our rights, users, or the public.
  • A successor, if the App is transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. This Policy will continue to apply to your data.

When you use the App's Share feature, you choose the app or person that receives the verse; their handling of it is governed by their own policies.

6. Data retention

  • Account data (device-linked account, preferences, favorites, device model, feedback) is kept for as long as your account is active, or until you ask us to delete it.
  • Server logs are kept for a limited period needed for security and troubleshooting, and then deleted.
  • Firebase data is retained according to Google's retention settings for Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
  • On-device data stays on your device until you clear the App's data or uninstall it.

7. Security

Data sent between the App and our server is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted one-way hashes. We limit access to our systems to what is needed to run the App. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and data deletion

  • Notifications and lock-screen verse: turn them off at any time in the App's Settings or in Android settings.
  • Analytics data: you can reset your device's advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
  • Local data: clear the App's storage (Android Settings → Apps → WisdomOne → Storage → Clear data) or uninstall the App.
  • Delete your account and server data: email us at d.dandapat96@gmail.com with the subject "WisdomOne data deletion request". Include your device make and model and the approximate date you installed the App, or the email address you signed in with if you used one. We will delete your account, preferences, favorites, device record, and feedback within 30 days and confirm by reply. Note that uninstalling the App alone does not delete data stored on our server.

Depending on where you live (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, India, or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children's privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Our servers and service providers (including Google Firebase) may be located outside your country. By using the App, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected as described in this Policy.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Effective date" above and, for significant changes, notify you in the App or on its Google Play listing. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
